Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). All applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. The Commercial Advisory Section provides oversight and management of the National Capital Authority’s commercial arrangements, including licenses, lake-based commercial activities, and diplomatic leases. It leads the development, negotiation, and management of these agreements to ensure they are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives. The section also provides advice to support consistent, best-practice procurement and contracting outcomes across the NCA.
The team delivers the day-to-day management of diplomatic leases and commercial license arrangements, including negotiation, contract administration, and relationship management. The team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide practical commercial and procurement advice that supports compliant and fit-for-purpose agreements.
