The Walter and Marion Café and Function centre were opened in early May 2022.
Associated works are continuing in May/June around the Regatta Point building to complete the landscape setting.
Replacement of hail damaged roofing over the National Capital Exhibition (NCE) and the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre (CRVC) will also continue until September 2022, subject to weather constraints. The NCE and CRVC are planned to remain open during the roof replacement works.
Construction is progressing steadily with the first events at The Marion Restaurant slated for May.
Throughout March the general public will notice the landscaping take shape, with the internal focus switching to fit-out works.

The NCA has begun site development works for a new café and function centre at Regatta Point.
Having completed the upgrade of the National Capital Exhibition in late 2018 and having welcomed the Canberra and Region Visitor Centre to the precinct in 2016, the café was the remaining portion of the building awaiting a transformation.
Located in a premium spot on Lake Burley Griffin with arguably the best view of the National Triangle and Canberra’s beautiful bush setting, the 140 capacity function centre and café will offer a unique venue for weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
