The National Capital Authority (NCA) has today released the consultation report following engagement earlier this year on the proposed Draft Amendment 102 – Hume Circle Precinct (DA102).
There were 94 submissions received in response to DA102 and the consultation report is the result of a comprehensive review and consideration of all feedback while also reflecting further work and discussions that occurred to respond to the views raised through revisions to the draft amendment.
The NCA appreciates all the community, organisations and stakeholders that have taken time to review the documentation and provide their feedback and considerations.
The consultation report highlights key themes from the feedback received and how this feedback has shaped changes to the proposed DA102 including;
The NCA remains committed to this opportunity for a well-planned, integrated development of the Hume Circle precinct, to create an urban precinct befitting of the National Capital while preserving what is currently appreciated in the character of this area.
DA102 was proposed to recognise the national significance of the area; to enable planned urban renewal in a manner consistent with the Griffins’ Plan for Canberra; and to improve housing supply supporting the national agenda.
What happens next?
The next step in the process is, following endorsement by the Board, for the proposed updated DA102 to be submitted to the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories for consideration for approval.
