Lake Burley Griffin Floating Sauna Approval

 

The National Capital Authority (NCA) has provided final approval for the Floating Sauna on Lake Burley Griffin.

The approval follows the granting of a licence for the sauna’s operation to Providence NDR Pty Ltd, which also operates the Lake Derby Floating Sauna in Tasmania, in March 2024 and public consultation on the proposed location, design and materials in August.

The consultation report provides information on the consultation process, submissions, issues raised and associated NCA responses and is available at www.nca.gov.au/planning/public-consultations.

The NCA is in discussion with Providence NDR Pty Ltd about the commencement and program of works onsite. Providence NDR Pty Ltd has indicated that it is targeting the commencement of operations in early 2025.
