Located next to Commonwealth Park, at the end of Barrine Drive and just off Commonwealth Avenue, this is the one stop for all visitors arriving in Canberra.

The first building on this site, and one of the earliest tourist attractions in the National Triangle, is the National Capital Exhibition. Opening for the royal visit of Queen Elizabeth II in 1963 it has always housed a scale model of the centre of Canberra. However, this is just one way the exhibition tells the story of Canberra. There are also fascinating displays, digital media, a film and splendid views to the National Triangle.

The Canberra and Region Visitors Centre has been located here since 2016 and can provide maps, locally produced goods for sale and information on all attractions and accommodation. There is long stay parking for buses and caravans towards the rear of the Regatta Point car park.

The Walter Café and The Marion Function Centre were opened in early May 2022. They provide a range of dining options with an outstanding view of the National Triangle.

 

Besides having both Commonwealth Park and the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin close by, Regatta Point also has a family friendly playground.
