The NCA is responsible for keeping the National Capital Plan under constant review and proposing amendments to it when necessary. As part of this function the NCA will undertake investigations into policies and strategies guiding development in the National Capital. These may inform future proposals to amend the National Capital Plan or form guidelines for development to guide the formation of proposals in areas subject to NCA interest.
These reviews may also be undertaken external to the NCA to allow for independent review of the role, policies and processes of the Authority in discharging its functions to protect the Commonwealth interest in the ACT.
