Hello and thanks for the opportunity to provide input.
The place is called the Australian War Memorial and I think it should solely be a memorial and any museum aspects should be in a separate building. I think the current museum aspects, before any extension, already detract from the memorial purpose.
I have visited some overseas war memorials and also some army museums and I consider the Scottish National War Memorial on the grounds of Edinburgh Castle to be an excellent example of a war memorial. It was an incredibly sombre and moving place unlike the current Australian War Memorial with its museum emphasis, any extension of which will further detract from the memorial.
I am against the planned changes.
