The National Capital Authority (NCA) wishes to advise that the House of Representatives Gardens will be closed on the 12th of October 2017 and the Senate Gardens at Old Parliament House will be closed on the 13th of October 2017.
Turf renovations will be undertaken during this time, to prepare the gardens for the high number of visitors during the warmer weather, when the roses will be in bloom.
The gates to both of the gardens will be locked during the turf renovations and visitors will not be able to gain access.
The NCA will stagger the work, with the House of Representatives Gardens to be closed from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on the 12th of October 2017, and then the following day, on 13th of October 2017, the Senate Gardens will be closed from 8.00am to 1.00pm.
Visitors will continue to have access to one of the gardens on each day, while the other is closed.
The turf renovations are undertaken annually and this is the first of many similar works that will be undertaken across National Land in the coming weeks.
