Scrivener Dam Dissipator Project

Latest updates

4 July 2025

The NCA is lowering the water level of Lake Burley Griffin to support construction works for the Scrivener Dam Dissipator Strengthening Project.

Due to recent rain events, the lake level will need to be lowered by a further 250mm (500mm total) below the normal level.
This is a temporary drawdown for a period of 3 weeks (weather dependent).
During this time lake levels are likely to fluctuate.

Signage in the National Triangle

The National Capital Authority (NCA) is undertaking a refresh of the tired and deteriorated existing ‘red’ vehicular directional and interpretive signage to improve the aesthetic across the National Triangle. This will incorporate the new National Triangle branding and update the content to reflect contemporary style in telling our Nation’s stories, both in the recent past and much further back to First Nations experiences.
