Submission to the Australian War Memorial

Thank you for the opportunity to contribute some suggestions for this large project.

I am overawed by the design, scale and scope of this redefined institution, which is truly remarkable and ground-breaking.

Given that the role and character of this national monument are being significantly changed, I would like to make some suggestions for further modifications and changes in keeping with this new celebratory role, in case you have not yet considered these.

- A subtley changed colour scheme, reflecting the main companies contributing to funding costs; in particular for the showcase.
- Large bold bronze statue(s) celebrating those who inspired these role and character changes.
- A carefully chosen collection of theme rides for the young, and young at heart, members of the public.
- Large screens celebrating Australia’s military engagements.
- A recruitment stand for those interested in a career change.
- A question: should the Australian War Memorial have a name change to reflect its reimagined prominent place among our institutions?
