As a returned national serviceman attached to 5RAR as a combat soldier in C Com[any 7n Platoon I am a proud Australian who served my country proud in my Tiger Battalion. We were a service group who at all times honored our country in all our activities.
We reserve the right to stand proud and have displayed the artifacts expressing our gallant work in Vietnam which included municipal works in all local towns to improve the living facilities for the agricultural province of Phuoc Tuy. The purpose of war for any Australian past or present is not for glory , the purpose is for supporting a country calling for help in modern society world.
These purposes and soldiers supporting this call should hold a record of every individual calling and the process taken during this exercise of freedom.
So i call for a reasonable space be provided for Blocks 3 & 4 section 39 to provide a collection space for presentation of Vietnam memorabilia for historical values. War is not a pleasant exercise although its importance in the word development of better humanitarian relationships need to be recorded for future generations to grasp where their Australian presence was expressed and be recorded for the betterment of a harmonious world.
