The years are never kind to citizen volunteers or the conscripted :but many years have passed since those days of Vietnam. And yet there is very little in the way of memorials, remembrance days or displays to honour the bravery, the commitment and intelligence needed to fight a modern war.
Australia should be shown , all the wins, all the losses and the ongoing costs, both medically and mentally for our returned servicemen, be they peace keepers or actively engaged in war.
The ability to prosecute a war is why we live a free lifestyle in Australia and the patriots who fight those wars, whether its in the middle east, or anywhere else deserved to be recognised in equality to all our men and women who served to protect us.
Build and display a shrine that will make the returnees proud of their service and make the fallen live on. ....Bless them for their service...LWF
Yours Most Sincerely. D T Burke
