It was Bean's vision that Australia should have a permanent place for the commemoration of our Service Personnel and their contribution to the safety and security of our country and its interests.
Bean would be proud that the nation still honour our Veterans and their Sacrifices and that we have a place in the National Capital that commemorates by name all those who have paid the supreme sacrifice in conflict.
As a Veteran who has served in the post Vietnam period, I am pleased that the modernisation of the memorial will enable the story to continue to evolve in recognition of all those who have served.
I therefore fully support the proposed changes to the AWM precinct and look forward to visiting in the future.
