Submission to the Australian War Memorial

I write largely to object to the role played by the NCA, supposedly guardian of the National Capital as "the symbol of Australian national life and values". Everything about the expansion of the War Memorial defies our national values, and flies in the face of the position of Canberra as the actual and symbolic seat of government in this country. The location of a celebration of war and a showcase of weaponry in a building sitting opposite our parliament in the Griffins' marvellous design is grotesque.
