Public consultation has now closed.
The National Capital Authority (NCA) would appreciate your input into the planning and design of possible improvements to Kings Park.
The NCA has prepared a King Park Improvement Strategy Concept Plan with the aim to provide a safer and more user friendly precinct.
With increasing use of the park in recent times for walking, cycling and getting out into nature with family and friends, the NCA thinks there there may be ways to improve everyone’s enjoyment and experience of the park. We are looking in particular at improving parking, new arrangements for vehicular access, improved safety for pedestrians and cyclists and better signage and way finding.
The NCA encourages you to provide thoughts on the new concepts or make others suggestions on ways to improve the park. A survey is also being conducted as part of the consultation.
It is hoped that throughout this process:
‘Kings Park evolves into a more user friendly precinct, with a focus on the evolution of better pedestrian and shared park users experiences, and an enabler for greater patronage in the park with streamlined and safer parking and traffic management’.
The King Park Improvement Strategy Concept Plan proposes the following main changes:
The proposals provide a pedestrian friendly foreshore and enable cyclists to travel with less obstructions. The NCA is interested in your ideas for improving the park.
We are holding a series of on-site ‘Public Drop In’ sessions to talk through the thinking and ideas in the plan:
Please park in designated car spaces and not on open space.
Please follow ACT Health COVID-19 guidelines:
