The Christmas in July Festival will take place on Parkes Place Lawns over four days this winter. With everything you can imagine, from authentic wood huts, Christmas lights, snow falling, mulled wine bars, melted cheese stations, and live concerts, it's all about the magic of a white Christmas.
Families, friends, and Christmas enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to gaze through a memorable combination of free and ticketed experiences.
For the first time ever – an extraordinary, melted cheese foodie experience in a private IGLOO is coming to town. It’s a French winter tradition to melt Raclette cheese and drop it on hot potatoes, ham, salami & pickles. Gather your friends and family in your private igloo – from 6pp to 8pp – feast on Raclette cheese and enjoy your own fire pit.
It your love for cheese fill your stomach and warm your heart. Raclette is a long-time crowd pleaser. More than a dish, it’s a fun experience to share with your loved ones and it includes a cauldron of mulled wine and giant marshmallows skewers to roast around your private fire pit.
Two giant nutcrackers will welcome you along with real Christmas trees and dazzling lights await as you stroll through our snow lane, with flakes drizzling from above. An experience to remember and your ultimate Instagram moment!
Through the snow lane, make your way along humming Silent Night towards the fire pits, sweets to roast and toast the night away. Eight fire pits will be available to hire, offering all-you-can-eat roasted marshmallows and a cup of mulled wine to warm up your winter night around the woodfire.
There is no winter without mulled wine and if previous wonderlands indicate anything, is we better have reserves! In the winter cold, fill your glasses fill with aromas of spiced steamy cinnamon wine as you indulge in the enchanting atmosphere. If you can’t withstand the cold, let alone the temptation, a cup of boozy hot chocolate might be your calling. For the brewery lovers, a handful of locally distilled craft beers will meet you whenever a refill is needed. Brews created especially for this Xmas Festival. Embrace a new festive season!
Your stomach and tastebuds are our guest of honour, so come prepared for a culinary journey like no other.
On offer: iconic crêpes, Fondue Savoyarde in a cob – from the French Alps – German hot dogs, Italian pasta in a cheese wheel, Belgian waffles, torched-flamed crème brûlée… Comfort food will be bountiful! Adding to the excitement, five of Canberra’s most avant-garde chefs will create unique fusion dishes, this will be a FEAST-IVAL like no other!
