Did you know that the National Capital Exhibition has one hundred precious stone artifacts from the Gillespie Collection on display*?
Audiences are invited to join curator and archaeologist Kenneth Heffernan and Ngambri- Ngunnawal Elder Matilda House for afternoon tea and yarn as they examine this extraordinary collection.
Together they will discuss how these rare stone artifacts were made and used, and their significance to the traditional custodians of the ACT region.
This delightful exploration of culture and heritage is a FREE event, but registrations are required.
*The National Capital Exhibition cares for and displays this collection on behalf of the Hall School Museum and Heritage Centre.
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as traditional custodians of the ACT and recognise any other people or families with connection to the lands of the ACT and region.
We acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.
