The forecast for Canberra’s first weekend in December is 100% chance of wine!

From Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd December 2022, Wine Island will kick off summer in our nation’s capital transforming Queen Elizabeth II Island on Lake Burley Griffin into a food and wine lovers paradise.

Holidaymakers will discover a broad range of boutique Australian cellar door experiences from the Hunter Valley, King Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Alpine Valley, among other regions, or if you’re dreaming of an overseas escape, close your eyes, lie back and let us take you to the Greek Islands at the Greek Beach Club featuring the finest Greek wines, beer and ouzo from Drink Greek. Food and wine aren’t the only agenda items on the holiday itinerary – activities are a big part of the experience of the island experience – choose from the hugely popular Wine Selectors wine education masterclasses, Pinot & Picasso art classes, Big River Gin masterclasses through to Yoga + Unwined on the beach.

 There’ll be plenty of Canberra legends in attendance too, including BentSpoke Brewing Co., Lark Hill, Big River Distilling Co., Contentious Character, Sholto Wines, and Mount Majura. Gourmet food will be available from Olleyville by Create (cheese and charcuterie platters, tacos, dessert), Grease Monkey (burgers) and Olive at Hawker (Mediterranean).

This exquisite oasis is a small island so only a very limited number of holidaymakers can attend each session, always giving Wine Island that first-class feeling and allowing guests to take time to interact with winemakers.
