Public consultation has now closed.
On 28 October 2016 the NCA received a Works Approval application from Purdon Planning on behalf of the Australian National University for the demolition of the Bruce Hall accommodation wings and ancillary buildings, works associated with the removal of hazardous materials, in-ground remediation works and the removal of trees at Block 1, Section 63, Acton. The Report was prepared in accordance with the NCA's 'Commitment to Community Engagement (February 2015)' which details how the NCA conducts consultation. The full consultation report is below.
The purpose of the report is to provide a greater level of consistency and transparency in the NCA's decision making process. The Consultation Report outlines the submissions received and provides responses to any of the issues raised. Public consultation took place between 12 November 2016 and 2 December 2016.
The NCA received a total of 129 submissions on the proposal. Two submissions were in support of the proposal and the other 127 submission were objections. The key issues raised during public consultation were:
