Public consultation has now closed.
On 5 December 2016, the NCA received a Works Approval application Australian National University for the construction of a temporary ‘pop up’ village and the demolition of two existing buildings (T13 & T131) associated with redevelopment of Union Court. It is proposed that the temporary village be in place for a period of up to three years. The Report was prepared in accordance with the NCA's 'Commitment to Community Engagement (February 2015)' which details how the NCA conducts consultation. The purpose of the report is to provide a greater level of consistency and transparency in the NCA's decision making process. The Consultation Report outlines the submissions received and provides responses to any of the issues raised. Public consultation took place between 14 January and 6 February 2017.
The NCA received a total of seven submissions on the proposal. All submissions raised concerns in relation to elements of the proposal. Four out of seven submissions followed a similar format to each other. Key issues raised in the submissions were:
